William Poxon

Gunner 2643, "D" Battery 230th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.
Killed in Action aged 24 on Friday 29th September 1916.
Town of Residence: Derby
Duty Location: France and Flanders.

He was born in Alvaston, Derby in 1892 to John and Eliza Poxon.
In 1911 he was a Railway Labourer living at 40 Warren Street, Alvaston, with his siblings: Catherine 23, John 21, Frederick 17, Ernest 15, Herbert 7, Hannah 5 and Dorris 0.

There was also a William Henry Poxon, aged 20 in 1911, living at 40 Commerce Street, Crewton, parents George and Mary.
