In 1901 he was 17 years of age and the son of George and Amelia Lichfield, of 3 Cauldwell Street, Bedford.
In 1911 he was a boarder at 60 Bridgford Road, Nottingham with Lewis Doel's family, as a Traveller, Engineering.
In 1917 his parents were living in 39 Eden Street, Alvaston.
